It uses ambient air as heat dissipation source and chilled water as heat transfer medium, adopts semi-hermetic twin-screw compressor and vapor compression refrigeration cycle. It needs no cooling tower, cooling water pump or cooling pipeline. Integrated whole unit can be installed outdoors/rooftop directly, widely used in industrial process temperature control and central HVAC.

BSL Series Air cooled screw chiller

 

Its core working unit consists of four parts, which work together to realize the refrigeration cycle.

Screw Compressor: Known as the "heart" of the equipment, it compresses the refrigerant through the meshing of twin screws to provide continuous and stable refrigeration power. It features high efficiency, low noise, and a long service life.

Air-Cooled Condenser: It dissipates the heat carried by the refrigerant into the air through forced ventilation via fans. It does not require a cooling tower, which simplifies the installation conditions.

Evaporator: It conducts heat exchange with the water to be cooled (refrigerant carrier), lowers the water temperature to -5℃, and then delivers the chilled water to the equipment that needs cooling.

Control System: Adopting PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) or microcomputer control, it can accurately adjust the outlet water temperature, monitor the equipment operation status, and realize automatic start-stop and fault alarm functions.

1. Main Components

 
Semi-hermetic twin-screw compressor, high-efficiency V-type fin air-cooled condenser, shell & tube evaporator, electronic expansion valve, oil-gas separator, PLC intelligent control system, variable-frequency cooling fans & multi-protection safety devices.
 

2. Working Principle

 
  1. Low-temperature refrigerant absorbs heat from process circulating water in evaporator, stably outputting chilled water at 5~12℃.
  2. Gaseous refrigerant is compressed into high-temperature & high-pressure gas by screw compressor.
  3. Axial fans force air convection in air-cooled condenser to release heat, refrigerant liquefies.
  4. Refrigerant depressurizes and cools via expansion valve, returns to evaporator for continuous refrigeration cycle.

A1: The working principle of the air-cooled screw chiller is as follows: The gaseous refrigerant discharged from the evaporator is adiabatically compressed by the compressor into a high-temperature and high-pressure state. It then enters the condenser, where it is cooled and condensed into a liquid refrigerant at constant pressure. After that, the liquid refrigerant passes through the throttle valve, expands to a low-pressure state, and becomes a gas-liquid mixture. The low-temperature and low-pressure liquid refrigerant absorbs heat from the substance to be cooled in the evaporator, turns back into gaseous refrigerant, and then re-enters the compressor through the pipeline to start a new cycle.
